FATTORIA FORANO

Fattoria Forano is located in the heart of Marche region, 300 meters above sea level, near the lovely towns of Appignano, Montecassiano and Macerata. The estate consists of 21 hectares of vineyards, together with many more of arable land. The winery has always been the essence of the estate: our native wines are a delightful blend of character and elegance.

The farmstead, surrounded by grapevines on the sweet hills of the Macerata county, is devoted to hospitality and is the perfect home away from home for anyone who would like to discover the beauties of the Adriatic Sea and Conero Riviera, as well as to explore the hidden beauties of the Monti Sibillini national park and of local cities of art.

Montelipa

Montelipa is the highest expression of one of our winery’s most important projects, the promotion and exaltation of native local vine varieties. This wine is a fine blend of three grape varieties: Sangiovese, Lacrima and Vernaccia Nera. This combination perfectly portrays the characteristics and complexities of our territory.

Rosso Piceno DOC

Rosso Piceno is the result of our family’s ancient traditions, passed down from generation to generation the cellar. It is deeply tied to our farmland and an expression of history, quality, and passion.

Occhio di Gallo

“Occhio di Gallo” (Eye of the rooster) is a traditional name for rosé wine in our region, passed down through the generations in the Macerata county. Its color and strong fruity and flowery scents originate from a first fermentation phase with grape skins.

Monteferro

In our Monteferro vineyard, located in the heart of the Macerata county, we have promoted an ancient native white grape variety, called RIBONA. This variety shows, a great synthesis of history, culture, and pursuit of quality.

Almajano

Traveling along a secondary road to Appignano, you can find the remains of an old church, Santa Maria di Almajano. Such name derives from the god “Almus”, the one that gives comfort, and its adoration. The same love for traditions brought us to rescue the Vernaccia Nera and Lacrima vineyard varieties, that together with Sangiovese give birth to this Riserva of Colli Maceratesi Rosso.

Bulciano

In 408 AD, after surviving the attacks of Alaric I and the Visigoths during the Gothic wars, the Picentes finally found safe shelter in the five hills around Castrum Montis Sanctae Mariae, now called Montecassiano. On one of those hills, Monte Bulciano, lays the vineyard that gives life to this Rosso Piceno Selection, our own tribute to the history and traditions of these lands.

Acquavite

Spirit distilled from musts of two different red grapes: Montepulciano and Sangiovese.
